Water sports enthusiasts can enjoy diving, sailing, surfing, deep sea fishing and unforgettable whale watching boat trips.
If you are planning an active holiday there is hiking, mountain biking, motorcycle tours, horse riding or paragliding.

National Park Caldera de Taburiente
Together with the highest point of the island, the Roque de los Muchachos (2426m), 12 other up to 2,000m high peaks form an imposing massif at the northern edge of the basin.
On various walking routes along the impressive crater rim you will be offered breathtaking views of the caldera. At the Roque de los Muchachos is one of Europe's largest observatories, the "Observatorio Astrofisico".

La Palma beaches
La Palma offers the tourists no white beaches, but the existing beaches are no less beautiful, because on La Palma black beaches connect with clean water and a beautiful view. In addition, the beaches of La Palma are not as crowded as you know it from other holiday regions. The sand can be very hot, so bathing shoes are useful to discover the most beautiful beaches of La Palma. The tourist beaches offer beach chairs and umbrellas for every comfort.
When the blue flags of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) wag on the beaches of the world, the wind whispers the word quality. Since 2008, the beach of Puerto Naos is Blue Flag - later came to the west Charco Verde and Tazacorte. The beach at the southern entrance to the city of Santa Cruz on the district of Breña Alta, called Playa Bajamar, since 2007 and in the east of La Palma since 2008, is also the beach of the beach resort Los Cancajos.

La Palma a paradise for every hiker

La Palma has a dense and well signposted network of hiking trails and offers tours that suit every taste and constitution.

On the crest of the Cumbre Vieja - an elongated elevation from the Caldera in the north to Fuencaliente in the south - there are hiking trails through the volcanic landscape typical of the island of La Palma. A tour takes you over black ash fields past extinct craters, lava flows and bizarre rock formations with fantastic views of the Atlantic Ocean. At its end you reach the Teneguia, the youngest volcano of the Canary Islands, which broke out in 1971 for the last time. Nearby, a visitor center on the topic of volcanism was built on La Palma.

Whether you are a nature lover or a participant of a guided hiking group, whether you are enthusiastic about Nordic walking, experienced climbers or passionate canyon climbers, La Palma has hiking trails for all levels of fitness and makes every hike an impressive experience. Here you will discover a landscape of unique beauty when hiking: in the Caldera de Taburiente National Park or in the untouched nature of the primeval and cloud forests of Los Tilos, the UNESCO declared Biosphere Reserve in the north of La Palma.
